The City Battlemasters were present but you could not queue battlegrounds. The Orb of Command being present definitely was intriguing, but to try and figure out what Phase the Classic Era PTR was on, you can also consider that Dire Maul was there and you could enter it. Since some players characters were still on the server from the previous Classic PTR, we went out to try and figure out what Phase the realms were on.
It was live for nearly a year, mostly only utilized by the Warsong Gulch community, to play games without using 'real' consumables on live realms. If you can remember that far back, that AQ PTR never actually came down. Oddly enough, the characters from the Classic PTR back when the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj were being tested were still there. Unfortunately, the Character Copy service did not work, at all. When the Classic Era PTR first went live, the first thing we tried to do was copy our characters from the Classic Era realms. Now that the servers are offline, the community is speculating what this PTR could be testing. We had a chance to roam around and take a few screenshots, trying to figure out what Phase the realm was on.
This past week, a new Classic Era Public Test Realm quietly went live.
